Pediatric Hospitalist - Per Diem

Job Description

The Department of Pediatrics at Stamford Hospital is seeking a Board Certified Per Diem Pediatric Hospitalist to join the team. The physician will oversee the care of hospitalized pediatric patients and provide well‑baby care in the nursery. They will offer consultation to attendings in Pediatrics and Family Medicine and serve as occasional backup in the NICU for deliveries. Additionally, the Hospitalist will provide teaching and medical consultation to surgical and family medicine residents and physician assistant students.

The pediatric unit contains 10 beds with an average daily census of 6–7 and a 36‑bed well‑baby nursery. The Emergency Department includes a dedicated Pediatrics ER unit with 8 beds.

Qualifications

• Board Certified Pediatrician with Pediatric Hospitalist experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Demonstrated desire to provide patient‑ and family‑centered care.

Highlights

• Per Diem; 24‑hour shifts, 8 AM‑8 AM; ideally 2–3 shifts per month, minimum one weekend shift per month. Some holiday coverage required.
