Position Overview
Prisma Health Medical Group-Midlands Department of Pediatrics seeks a full-time Pediatric Hospitalist, BE/BC in General Pediatrics or Hospitalist Medicine to provide care at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.
Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient and newborn services for infants and children, rounding in a level II nursery, stabilizing critically ill newborns and children while awaiting transfer, and covering high-risk deliveries.
- Receive support from pediatric subspecialists at the regional Children’s Hospital via local telemedicine and satellite clinics.
- Join a team of pediatric hospitalists with 1:4 weekend call coverage.
- Teach medical students, pediatric and family medicine residents, and family medicine residents participating in hospitalist and newborn services.
- Receive a teaching appointment with the University of South Carolina School of Medicine at the assistant professor level.
- Serve on a newborn service with 1,300 deliveries annually, 150 admissions to the level II nursery, and 300 admissions to the pediatric inpatient unit.
