Pediatric Hospitalist - Practice Medical Director

Pediatrix is seeking a Pediatric Hospitalist Medical Director to lead a thriving pediatric program in Winchester, VA. This leadership role offers a balance between program growth and direct patient care, supported by block scheduling to promote work-life balance. The position involves collaborating with subspecialists and Pediatrix NICU providers, as well as teaching and mentoring Family Medicine residents.

Practice Info

• 17-bed pediatric floor and newborn nursery
• Approximately 2,400 annual deliveries
• Pediatric floor ADC: 5
• Newborn nursery ADC: 15
• Advanced Practice Provider support during the day
• Collaboration with UVA, INOVA, and Children's National subspecialists

Responsibilities

• Guide program growth while maintaining direct patient care
• Provide leadership for the pediatric hospitalist program
• Drive quality, safety, and patient experience initiatives
• Support physician and APP recruitment and retention
• Partner with hospital leadership on program development and growth
• Foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture
• Teach and mentor Family Medicine residents
• Ensure continuity of care in partnership with Pediatrix NICU providers
