Pediatric Hospitalist

AdventHealth for Children and AdventHealth Medical Group are seeking dynamic and energetic Pediatric Hospitalists with a focus on newborn care to join their team at the new AdventHealth Lake Nona. This role involves providing comprehensive newborn care, attending high-risk deliveries, and managing pediatric patients within the Pediatric Observation Unit. The successful candidate will join a large, expanding pediatric hospitalist team recognized for top-tier children's hospital services and newborn care in Florida.

• The pediatric hospitalist team consists of over 80 physicians and APPs.
• The program at AdventHealth for Children is recognized as one of the top Children's Hospitals in Florida.
• AdventHealth has received recognition for Best Newborn Care by US News and World Report for three consecutive years.
• The Level 4 NICU in Orlando has over 100 NICU beds with access to all major medical/surgical pediatric subspecialties.
• The new AdventHealth Lake Nona campus will open November 30th, 2026, starting with 55 licensed beds and expanding to 335 beds at full build.
• The hospital will feature 5 ORs, 2 Endoscopy suites, and 2 Cath Labs at opening.

Responsibilities

• Perform well newborn care admissions, daily rounds, and discharges.
• Attend high-risk deliveries and provide newborn stabilization.
• Coordinate newborn transfers to higher levels of care as indicated.
• Conduct ED pediatric consults.
• Provide pediatric patient care within the Pediatric Observation Unit.

Shift & Schedule

• Schedule consists of both restricted (in hospital) and unrestricted 24-hour call (from home).
• Approximately 12 shifts per month.

Requirements

• Board Certification/Eligible American Board of Pediatrics.
