Pediatric Hospitalist

AdventHealth Medical Group is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Pediatric Hospitalist to join their collaborative team at AdventHealth Winter Park. This role focuses on providing inpatient pediatric and newborn care, including Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit services. The physician will deliver high-quality, family-centered care for newborns, pediatric patients, and their families, working closely with various medical subspecialties.

Practice Info

• Provide inpatient pediatric and newborn care at a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
• Work with a team of neonatologists and have pediatric subspecialty support through AdventHealth for Children at the Walt Disney Pavilion.
• The hospital is a 382-bed facility with over 1,800 team members.
• The campus offers specialized care including personalized maternity and neonatal care at The Dr. P. Phillips Baby Place.

Responsibilities

• Perform newborn assessments, admissions, daily rounds, and discharge planning.
• Attend high-risk deliveries and C-Sections.
• Stabilize and manage newborns requiring respiratory support, phototherapy, IV fluids, etc.
• Conduct inpatient pediatric consultations and admissions.
• Provide newborn nursery coverage.
• Coordinate transfers to Level 4 NICU at AdventHealth for Children.
• Communicate effectively with families regarding treatment plans and patient progress.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation.

Requirements

• Recent NICU experience preferred.
• Proficiency with newborn resuscitation and stabilization.
• Procedure proficiency: intubations, resuscitation, and managing ventilators for short periods of time.
• MD or DO degree required.
• Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Pediatrics Required.
• Completion of an ACGME - accredited program Required.
• NRP Certification Required.
• Unrestricted Florida License Required.
