Pediatric Hospitalist

Join a large pediatric group as a BC/BE Pediatric Hospitalist with SSM Health across locations throughout the St. Louis Metropolitan area, including SSM Health St. Clare Hospital - Fenton. This role involves providing pediatric emergency coverage, attending deliveries, rounding on newborns, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary care team. Various position needs are available, including PRN, part-time, and full-time opportunities with 12-hour day and night shifts.

• SSM Health St. Clare Hospital - Fenton, a Level I Time Critical Diagnosis STEMI Center and a Level I Stroke Center, serves the medical needs of the expanding community in southwest St. Louis County

Responsibilities

• Provide pediatric services to patients at designated hospital(s) or at other Program Sites
• Responsible for admission, management, and discharge of pediatric patients in conjunction with attending physicians as appropriate
• Evaluates patients and performs procedures as deemed appropriate by the Glennon Care Pediatrics Medical Director
• Responds to requests from facility's Emergency Department for patient evaluation and treatment
• Attends high-risk deliveries in the Program Site labor and delivery room
• Be available at all times during scheduled shifts to provide care to neonates in the nursery as necessary to consult with the neonatologist as appropriate
• Responds to requests for pediatric consults from other departments
• Collaborates with advance practice nurses (APN) as needed

Shift & Schedule

• 12 hrs shifts day/night
• Various position needs - PRN, Part Time, Full Time

Requirements

• BC/BE Pediatric Hospitalist
• NRP Certification
• Comply with all of the designated hospital bylaws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures and any such bylaws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures of any Program Site at which the physician performs services
