Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist

Sanford Health is seeking a BE/BC fellowship-trained Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist to join their established practice at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield, Wisconsin. This role involves providing comprehensive care to pediatric patients with malignancies and hematologic diseases in both ambulatory and acute care settings. The position offers an opportunity to work within a supportive team dedicated to expert care for children in central Wisconsin.

• Established practice in Marshfield, Wisconsin
• Team includes hematologists and oncologists, oncology nurses, surgery, neurosurgery, radiation oncology, interventional radiologists, behavioral health, child life specialists, and other specialists
• Clinical trials in the Children's Oncology Group at the National Cancer Institute
• Marshfield Children's Hospital Oncology Wing

Responsibilities

• Provide consultations and management of pediatric patients with known or suspected malignancies and hematologic diseases in the ambulatory setting
• Provide inpatient consultation and management of pediatric patients in the acute care setting
• Offer supervision to RNs administering chemotherapy in the ambulatory setting
• Perform history and physical examination
• Admit, evaluate, diagnose, and provide treatment or consultative services to children, adolescents, and young adults with illnesses and disorders of the blood, bleeding and clotting, and immune system
• Perform staging and classification of tumors
• Apply multimodal therapy
• Address the epidemiology and etiology of childhood cancer

Requirements

• BE/BC fellowship trained Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist
• Current fellows welcome to apply
• M.D. or D.O. degree
• Successful completion of a hospital affiliated Pediatric residency program and completion of a Pediatric Hematology-Oncology fellowship program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada
• Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable
• If not board certified at the time of application but completed fellowship training within the last five years, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of fellowship training
