Pediatric Gastroenterology Faculty Opportunities in San Antonio Position Summary: The Department of Pediatrics, Section of Gastroenterology is seeking three full-time faculty members to join the team in San Antonio. We are looking for a General Pediatric Gastroenterologist, an Advanced Endoscopy Gastroenterologist, and a Gastroenterologist specializing in Motility Disorders. Each role includes a faculty appointment within the Department of Pediatrics, with rank determined by the candidates qualifications and accomplishments. - Clinical Responsibilities: - Provide outpatient and inpatient care for children with intestinal, hepatic, pancreatic, and nutritional disorders. - Offer consultative services and emergency room consultations. - Perform general pediatric gastrointestinal procedures, including upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, and related therapeutic procedures.
- Teaching Responsibilities: - Supervise and educate medical students, residents, and fellows specializing in Gastroenterology. - Participate in the Advanced Endoscopy fellowship program, which has successfully trained multiple fellows.
- Research Support: - Access to the Clinical Research Center for faculty interested in pursuing clinical research.Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: M.D., Ph.D. / M.D., or D.O. degree, or equivalent
- Training: Completion of an ACGME-approved fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology (or equivalent)
- Licensure: Licensed by the Texas Medical Board or eligible for Texas licensure
- Certification: Board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatric Gastroenterology by the American Board of Pediatrics
