Sanford Health is seeking a full-time BC/BE Pediatric Gastroenterologist to join their team at Sanford Children's Hospital and Sanford School of Medicine at the University of SD. This opportunity is ideal for a physician seeking a clinical practice within an academic setting. The role involves providing comprehensive gastroenterology care to pediatric patients, with research being an optional component.

- Join three other pediatric gastroenterologists and two nurse practitioners.
- Opportunity is best suited for the physician desiring a clinical practice in an academic setting, research is optional.
- Dietitians, social workers, CT and Speech Therapy with expertise in feeding, and Integrated Health Therapists are available in the clinic.
- Specialty clinic includes 80+ physicians with essentially all Pediatric sub-specialties represented including a Hospitalist Service.
- Sanford Children's Hospital has 146 beds and is the only free-standing children's hospital in the state of SD.
- Endoscopy procedures are done in the OR with anesthesia support.
Responsibilities
- Perform history and physical examination.
- Evaluate, diagnose, and provide consultative services and treatment to infants, children, adolescents and young adults presenting with diseases of the digestive system.
- Perform complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using lighted scopes to see internal organs.
- Teach pediatric residents and medical students.
- Involve in committees and leadership.

Requirements
- M.D. or D.O. degree.
- Successful completion of a Pediatric residency followed by successful completion of a fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology that is accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
- Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
- If not board certified at the time of application but completed fellowship training within the last five years, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of fellowship training.
- Demonstrate experience reflective of the privileges requested, either via fellowship log or quality profile from current hospital(s) showing clinical activity for the last 12 months, including numbers of procedures performed, morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications.
- Demonstrate active involvement of inpatient services for at least 50 patients in the last 12 months (if not applying directly out of fellowship).
- Demonstrate active involvement in the care of 50 patients in clinical practice in the last 12 months (if quality profile is not available).
