Sanford Health, one of the largest not-for-profit health systems in the US, is seeking a full-time Pediatric Endocrinologist to join their team at Sanford Children's Hospital. This role offers the opportunity to work with an experienced multidisciplinary team and contribute to an established clinical research program focused on improving type 1 diabetes care. Practice Info
- Join two physicians and one nurse practitioner in the Pediatric Endocrinology section.
- Work with an experienced team of social workers, dietitians, certified diabetes educators, behavioral health, and genetic counselors.
- Contribute to an established clinical research program spanning from general population screening to immune interventions for type 1 diabetes care.
- Collaborate with more than 70 sub-specialists and hospitalists in multidisciplinary patient care and education of pediatric residents.
- Practice at Sanford Children's Hospital, a 146-bed free-standing children's hospital in South Dakota.
Responsibilities
- Perform history and physical examination.
- Admit patients (if applicable to the setting).
- Evaluate, diagnose, and provide treatment or consultative services to infants, children, adolescents, and young adults with endocrine system illnesses and disorders, including diabetes mellitus, growth failure, unusual size for age, early or late pubertal development, birth defects, defects of the genital region, and disorders of the thyroid, adrenal, and pituitary glands.

Requirements
- M.D. or D.O. degree.
- Successful completion of a Pediatric residency program.
- Completion of a fellowship in Pediatric Endocrinology accredited by the ACGME, AOA, or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
- Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the ABMS, the AOA, or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable (required within five years from fellowship completion if not board certified at time of application).
- Demonstrate active involvement of inpatient services to at least 50 patients in the last 12 months (if not applying directly out of fellowship and providing a quality profile).
- Demonstrate active involvement in the care of 50 patients in clinical practice in the last 12 months (if not applying directly out of fellowship and providing documentation of clinic activity).
