Sanford Health is seeking a BC/BE Pediatric Endocrinologist to join their expanding pediatric specialty team at Sanford Children's Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota. This role offers the opportunity to work with a dedicated team of specialists, providing comprehensive care for a wide range of endocrine conditions in a clinic-based setting with hospital consults. The position also includes a joint appointment as clinical faculty with the UND School of Medicine and Health Science, offering teaching opportunities.
Practice Info
- Join a team of 2 Board Certified Pediatric Endocrinologists, a pediatric dietician, and 6 certified diabetic educators.
- Clinic-based practice with hospital consults throughout the Children's Hospital (NICU, Peds, PICU).
- Full array of endocrine conditions including thyroid, diabetes, and a growing number of transgender patients.
- Collaboration with an on-staff pediatric psychologist specializing in gender dysphoria.
- Integrated behavioral health embedded into the clinic.
- Outreach to regional Sanford clinics.
Responsibilities
- Perform history and physical examination.
- Admit (if applicable to the setting), evaluate, diagnose, and provide treatment or consultative services to infants, children, adolescents, and young adults presenting with illness and disorders of the endocrine systems.
- Provide care for conditions including diabetes mellitus, growth failure, unusual size for age, early or late pubertal development, birth defects, defects of the genital region, and disorders of the thyroid, adrenal, and pituitary glands.
- Teach medical students and family medicine residents as clinical faculty with the Department of Pediatrics at UND School of Medicine and Health Science.
- Teach an upcoming pediatric residency in 2024.

Requirements
- M.D. or D.O. degree.
- Successful completion of a Pediatric residency program.
- Completion of a fellowship in Pediatric Endocrinology accredited by the ACGME, AOA, or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
- BE/BC in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the ABMS, the AOA, or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
- If not board certified at the time of application but fellowship training completed within the last five years, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of fellowship training.
- If just completed a fellowship, provide fellowship log.
- If not applying directly out of a fellowship, provide a quality profile from hospital(s) where privileges are held showing clinical activity for the last 12 months, including numbers of procedures performed, morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications.
- If not applying directly out of a fellowship, demonstrate active involvement of inpatient services to at least 50 patients in the last 12 months.
- If a quality profile is not available, provide documentation of clinic activity for the last 12 months and demonstrate active involvement in the care of 50 patients in clinical practice in the last 12 months.
