Pediatric Endocrinologist – Fixed Term Clinical Faculty

Position Summary
The Department of Pediatrics at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine seeks a board‑certified or eligible Pediatric Endocrinologist for a full‑time clinical faculty appointment. The role is based at the Novant Health – New Hanover Regional Medical Center, a multi‑specialty community practice that includes a 45‑bed Level III NICU, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, and an inpatient unit. The faculty member will deliver outpatient endocrine care, provide inpatient consultation services as needed, develop clinical activities in surrounding outreach locations across southeastern North Carolina, and participate in teaching and educational opportunities for medical and health‑profession students and residents.
Responsibilities
- Provide outpatient endocrine care to children, including management of common endocrine conditions.
- Offer inpatient consultation services when required.
- Develop and perform clinical activities in outreach locations throughout southeastern North Carolina.
- Participate in academic teaching, resident education, and curricular development.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary clinics such as Turner Syndrome, gender wellness, and disorders of sexual development clinics.
- Support research activities and collaborate on interdisciplinary projects when feasible.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
- Board certified in Pediatric Endocrinology or in the process of becoming board certified.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies and Experience
- Expertise in managing high‑prevalence endocrine conditions in children.
- Willingness and interest in managing rare and complex endocrine conditions with support from UNC Children’s Hospital in Chapel Hill.
- Strong commitment to clinical excellence, patient advocacy, and multidisciplinary teamwork.
- Experience in academic settings, including outpatient clinics and teaching of medical students or residents.
