Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician

Sanford USD Medical Center Emergency Department is seeking a BE/BC Pediatric Emergency Medicine Trained Physician to join their group in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This role offers the opportunity to participate in both clinical practice and academic medicine within a Level I Adult and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center. The position allows clinicians to work alongside an experienced team of emergency physicians, APPs, and pediatric specialists in a state-of-the-art environment.

• Group consists of 4 PEM fellowship trained physicians working alongside 22 EM physicians and 6 APPs
• Only PEM program in the Dakotas
• Level I Verified Adult & Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with 46,000+ encounters per year (adult + pediatric)
• Pediatric emergency department visits per year equal 6,000
• New Pediatric Emergency Department opening January 2026 with 10 dedicated rooms including a trauma bay, adjacent to the main ED
• Emergency Medicine Residency program launching in July 2026
• Children's Hospital is a 146-bed state-of-the-art tertiary care center with 80+ sub-specialists, a 58-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and a 12-bed Pediatric ICU
• AirMed Program features 2 fixed-wing planes and 1 helicopter

Shift & Schedule

• 15 shifts per month
• Current shift hours: 0800-1700 & 1600-0000

Requirements

• BE/BC Pediatric Emergency Medicine Trained Physician
• Board certification in general pediatrics or adult emergency medicine
• No visa sponsorship available
