Job Summary
TeamHealth is hiring a pediatric emergency medicine assistant facility medical director at St. David's Children's Hospital in Austin, Texas. The role involves collaborating with the facility medical director in a well-supported leadership structure and supervising operations in a 10‑bed pediatric emergency department.
Responsibilities
- Partner with an experienced and highly respected facility medical director to provide collaborative leadership.
- Assist in managing a 10‑bed, pediatric‑only emergency department.
- Oversee the department’s daily census of low 50s patients and maintain a balanced, manageable workload.
- Coordinate 24‑hour physician coverage with two 12‑hour shifts and provide daily APC coverage.
- Ensure integrated support from a dedicated pediatric OR, an 8‑bed medical/surgical unit, and a 6‑bed PICU.
- Maintain 24/7 pediatric hospitalist and intensivist coverage.
- Oversee the department’s location 15 minutes north of downtown in The Domain, a vibrant neighborhood with shops, dining, and green space.
