Sanford Health is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatric Critical Care Intensivist to join its team at Sanford Children's Hospital in Bismarck, ND. This role involves providing critical care management for life-threatening organ system failure in pediatric patients, from neonates to adolescents. - Pediatric unit with all beds monitored and shared with a 16-bed pediatric unit
- 26-bed Level II NICU
- Roughly 300 Admissions to Intermediate and PICU level of care
- Supported by AirMed transport services with helicopter and fixed wing covering a three-state area
Responsibilities
- Perform history and physical examination
- Admit (if applicable to the setting)
- Evaluate, diagnose, and provide treatment or consultative services
- Provide critical care management of life-threatening organ system failure from any cause in children, from the term or near-term neonate to the adolescent
- Support vital physiological functions
- Manage conditions including shock, coma, elevated intracranial pressure, seizures, infections, acute and chronic renal failure, acute endocrine electrolyte emergencies (including diabetic ketoacidosis), sepsis, heart failure, trauma, acute and chronic respiratory failure, drug overdoses, massive bleeding, central nervous system dysfunction (including cerebral resuscitation), and kidney failure

Requirements
- M.D. or D.O. degree
- Minimum of one year of experience is preferred
- Successful completion of a hospital affiliated Pediatric residency program
- Completion of a Pediatric Critical Care fellowship accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada
- Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable
- If not board certified at the time of application but fellowship training completed within the last five years, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of fellowship training
- Ability to demonstrate at least 50 Pediatric Critical Care procedures in the last 12 months (if not applying directly out of a fellowship)
