Sanford Health is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatric Cardiologist to join an expanding group of Pediatric Specialists. This role offers an opportunity to provide comprehensive cardiovascular care to children and adolescents, as well as adults with congenital heart disease, within a 15-bed children's hospital. The position is located in Bismarck, North Dakota, a fast-growing community with diverse economic opportunities.

Practice Info

  • Expanding group of Pediatric Specialists including Pediatric Neurology, Urology, Hematology/Oncology, Allergy, and Cardiology.
  • Visiting specialists include Pediatric Orthopedics, GI, Infectious Disease, Nephrology, Endocrinology, Rheumatology, and Neurosurgery.
  • Opportunity for academic setting through the University of North Dakota.
  • 15-bed children's hospital with two PICU beds.
  • Full-time Pediatric Hospitalist Program.
  • Brand new 26-bed NICU (Level IIIB) opened in July 2020.

Responsibilities

  • Perform history and physical examination.
  • Admit, evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide treatment or consultative services to children and adolescents up to the age of 21 presenting with cardiovascular disease.
  • Admit, evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide treatment or consultative services to adults with history of congenital heart disease and disorders of the heart and blood vessels.
  • Provide care to patients in the intensive care setting in conformance with Rules and Regulation and hospital policies.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree.
  • Successful completion of a Pediatric residency program of at least three years' duration.
  • Successful completion of a fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology of at least 3 years' duration accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
  • Certification by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
  • Applicants not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their fellowship training within the last five years shall be eligible, but must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their fellowship training unless waived.
  • Experience can be demonstrated by providing fellowship log (for recent fellowship graduates) or a quality profile from hospital(s) showing clinical activity for the past 24 months, including numbers of procedures performed, morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications.
  • Ability to demonstrate active involvement of 25 Pediatric Cardiology procedures during the past two years with satisfactory quality data.
