Overview
Inova Children2s Cardiology and the Inova Children2s Heart Center are seeking a full-time Pediatric Cardiologist to join our clinic. The physician will collaborate with Heart Center leadership to establish and grow a clinical presence in Maryland locations, including Shady Grove and Frederick, serving communities adjacent to Northern Virginia. The selected candidate will join an exceptional team of board-certified pediatric cardiologists and cardiovascular surgeons committed to collaboration and delivering outstanding care to patients and families. The Inova Children2s Heart Center includes 19 pediatric cardiologists across subspecialties including interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, advanced cardiac imaging, fetal cardiology, adult congenital heart disease, general cardiology, dedicated cardiac intensivists, and congenital cardiovascular surgeons.
The candidate will interpret advanced noninvasive cardiac imaging studies and may participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical research, and the education of medical students and pediatric residents.
Responsibilities
- Interpret outpatient general pediatric cardiology care and inpatient services, including Cardiology Ward/Consult service and/or Cardiology Stepdown teams.
- Collaborate with the Chief of Pediatric Cardiology and Heart Center leadership to execute yearly personal and programmatic goals focused on safety, quality, patient experience, access, and stewardship.
- Work with a multidisciplinary team in a collaborative, team-based environment focused on teamwork, dedication to patients and families, and education and research support where applicable.
- Participate in education of medical students and pediatric residents; engage with research professionals when applicable.

Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited institution. Board eligible or board certified in Pediatric Cardiology.
- Experience: Successful completion of Pediatric residency program.
- Licensure: Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Virginia.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) on start, ACLS, PALS (when appropriate).
- Payer Credentialing: Ability to successfully complete credentialing with third-party payors and enrollment as a CMS Medicare/Medicaid payor.
- Medical Staff Credentialing: Successful completion of credentialing for Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges.
