Job Description Summary
The Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer III reports to the Pediatric Interventional Cardiac and Imaging Manager. Under indirect supervision, the Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer III provides high quality echocardiograms for interpretation and diagnosis by a Pediatric Cardiologist in a professional manner that is consistent with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. This role requires independent and efficient performance of clinical Pediatric Echo operations in the hospital and procedural setting, entering full preliminary reports. This role organizes and prioritizes patient exams and contributes to unit teamwork.

Job Description
Secondary employment for coverage in AFCC with a maximum of 2 shifts/month.
Will be required to maintain Sonographer III classification with revalidation each year of approved project by committee.
Operates ultrasonic equipment to produce images of the body's organs and tissues for diagnostic purposes. Performs sonographic examinations to locate, evaluate and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data.
Additional Job Description
Education: Graduation from a school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Work Experience 2-4 years. Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
