Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist

Golisano Children's Hospital (GCH) at the University of Rochester Medical Center is seeking a full-time Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist to join its Division of Pediatric Critical Care. This faculty position offers the opportunity to contribute to a nationally recognized children's hospital, leveraging the resources of a major academic medical center. The role involves providing comprehensive care for critically ill pediatric cardiac patients within a dedicated 16-bed acuity-adaptable cardiac ICU.

• Dedicated children's hospital within the University of Rochester Medical Center
• Operates under the license of Strong Memorial Hospital, a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and regional burn center
• 148-bed hospital with plans for a major expansion
• Pediatric Cardiac Care Center (PCCC) is a 16-bed acuity-adaptable cardiac ICU
• PCCC is staffed with 24/7 in-house attending physician coverage, dedicated advanced practice providers, and specialized pediatric cardiac nursing staff
• Active ECMO program supporting GCH's regional pediatric cardiac surgery program

Responsibilities

• Clinical care of critically ill pediatric cardiac patients
• Teaching of pediatric residents, fellows, and medical students
• Quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
• Multidisciplinary collaboration across cardiology, cardiac surgery, and critical care teams
• Academic scholarship aligned with institutional priorities

Compensation

• The referenced pay range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the base range of compensation for this faculty position.
• Individual salaries will be determined within the job's salary range and established based on (but not limited to) market data, experience and expertise of the individual, and with consideration to related position salaries.
• Alignment of clinical incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
• Salary range: $300,000 - $420,000

Qualifications

• MD, DO, or international medical degree equivalent such as MBBS/MBChB/MBBCh
• Board certification or eligibility in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine and Pediatric Cardiology preferred
• Advanced fellowship training in Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care
• Candidates with board certification or eligibility in either Pediatric Critical Care or Pediatric Cardiology will be considered if they have additional advanced training or extensive experience in Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care
• Demonstrated excellence in clinical care, teaching, and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Commitment to medical education, quality improvement, and academic scholarship
• Eligibility for New York State medical licensure and DEA certification prior to credentialing
• Procedural competencies consistent with the practice of a pediatric cardiac intensivist
