Pediatric Cardiac ICU Hospitalist

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking energetic BE/BC pediatricians for a Hospitalist position in their Pediatric Cardiac ICU (PCICU). This role involves providing frontline care to high acuity pediatric cardiac intensive care patients on a shift-based schedule. It offers an excellent opportunity for both career hospitalists and recent residency graduates interested in pediatric cardiology or critical care.

Practice Info

• Work exclusively in the PCICU, rounding with the interdisciplinary PCICU team.
• Average daily census is 5-6 patients.
• The PCICU team includes 10 Intensivists, 6 PCCM fellows, 6 PCICU APPs, pediatric residents, medical students, and over 25 full-time nurses, along with dedicated respiratory therapists, social workers, rehabilitation specialists, music therapists, and child life specialists.

Responsibilities

• Serve as frontline providers for all patients in the PCICU.
• Care for post-operative congenital heart disease patients ranging from infants to young adults.
• Care for medical cardiac patients.
• Care for patients supported with ECMO ranging from infants to young adults.
• Care for patients supported with VADs ranging from infants to young adults.
• Perform a wide array of PCICU-based procedures on a shift-based schedule.
• Achieve procedural competency for intubation, arterial lines, and PICC line placement, as well as other common pediatric procedures.
• Collaborate on quality improvement and clinical research projects.

Compensation

• Compensation range from $160K to $200K (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits).
• The salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits.

Shift & Schedule

• Shift-based schedule.

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree from an accredited program.
• Successful completion of a 3-year Pediatric ACGME approved residency program.
• New York State Medical License (or eligible).
• BE/BC in Pediatrics.
• Meet eligibility requirements for an appointment to the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
