Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology Physician
Presbyterian Healthcare Services, a locally owned, not-for-profit healthcare system in New Mexico, is seeking a BE/BC Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology Physician to join their rapidly growing team in Albuquerque, NM. This full-time role involves participating in the care of high-risk pediatric cardiac patients for non-cardiac surgery and cardiac catheterizations, as well as general operating room cases. The successful candidate will contribute to a program that treats pediatric and adult patients with a wide range of congenital heart conditions.
Practice Info
- The program currently consists of two congenital heart surgeons, two mid-levels, and one full-time anesthesiologist dedicated to the service line.
- Management of all pediatric surgical cases (general, cardiac, ENT, GI, etc.) along with cath lab cases ages 0-18.
- Support Staff: Anesthesia Tech in OR.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the care of high-risk pediatric cardiac patients for non-cardiac surgery and cardiac catheterizations.
- Participate in the care of children in the general operating rooms.
- Manage all pediatric surgical cases (general, cardiac, ENT, GI, etc.) along with cath lab cases ages 0-18.
- Participate in the care of pediatric patients undergoing surgery or diagnostic testing.
- Perform pre-anesthesia evaluation of pediatric patients undergoing surgery, invasive procedure, or diagnostic testing at Presbyterian Hospital.

Shift & Schedule
- FTE: 1.00
- 4-5 cases per day
- Call Expectations: 1:3
- No more than 10 days per month
- Hours per day: standard 8-hour shift
Requirements
- Candidates must hold an M.D. degree or equivalent.
- Successfully have completed a Pediatric Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology Fellowship.
- Must be ABA board certified.
- A minimum of three years of Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology experience with demonstrated proficiency in the anesthetic management of children and adults with congenital heart disease is required.
