Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist

Job Description

Nemours Children’s Hospital, located in Orlando, Florida, is seeking a full‑time Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist to provide anesthesia and sedation services for pediatric patients undergoing cardiac surgery, cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology studies, cardiac imaging, and non‑cardiac procedures for patients with congenital or acquired heart disease. The role is integral to a multidisciplinary cardiac team and includes supervision of CRNAs and CAAs, education of medical students and anesthesia residents, and collaboration with pediatric cardiac intensivists for invasive monitoring, airway management, and bedside procedures. The physician will also participate in department and hospital‑wide quality assessment and performance improvement initiatives and lead efforts to implement best practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia and sedation for pediatric cardiac and non‑cardiac procedures.
• Supervise CRNAs and CAAs and educate medical students and residents.
• Collaborate closely with pediatric cardiac intensivists on invasive monitoring, airway management, and bedside procedures.
• Participate in quality assessment and performance improvement initiatives to enhance care delivery.

Requirements

• ACGME residency training and subsequent fellowship.
• ABA certification in Anesthesiology and Pediatric Anesthesiology with a focus on Pediatric Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology.
• Comprehensive experience in pediatric cardiac anesthesia, teaching, and clinical research.
