Pediatric Anesthesiologist
Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC, is seeking a Pediatric Anesthesiologist to join their established team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a collegial setting within a 678-bed Level II trauma center, serving as a tertiary care center for seven counties. The practice emphasizes patient care and safety, with many physicians holding fellowship training in various specialties.

- Practice based in New Hanover Regional Medical Center, a 678-bed Level II trauma center
- Serves as a tertiary care center for seven counties in southeastern coastal North Carolina
- Provides anesthesia services to multiple locations across the Cape Fear region, including Cape Fear (Orthopedic) Hospital, Pender Memorial Hospital, Dosher Hospital (Southport), Atlantic Surgi Center, Scotts Hill Outpatient Surgery Center, and various office-based settings
- Stable team of board-certified, career-committed anesthesiologists
- Many physicians have fellowship training in cardiovascular, pain management, regional, and pediatric anesthesiology
- Case Assignments: ~20% peds/neonates (general surgery, craniofacial surgery, endo, eyes, urology, dental, and MRI) and ~80% adult (OB, regional, vascular, neurosurgery, endo, orthopedics and OB/GYN)
Responsibilities
- Assist in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department
- Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures
- Pre-anesthesia assessment
- Obtains and/or verifies patient consent
- Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient
- Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
- Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition
- Performance of clinical intervention as needed
- Near 100% CRNA Supervision
Compensation
- Salary: $580,000
- Up to $5,000 relocation allowance
- Sign On Incentives including Loan Repayment and Training Assistance options: $50,000

Requirements
- M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine
- ECFMG and FLEX
- Completion of approved residency in anesthesia
- Currently licensed as a physician
