Garnet Health Medical Center in Middletown, NY, is seeking a Pediatric Anesthesiologist to join its team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a Magnet-recognized, state-of-the-art facility that serves a broad patient base in a rapidly growing, family-friendly community. The position involves a significant percentage of pediatric cases, contingent on the expansion of pediatric surgical services.

Practice Info

  • The only hospital in Orange County, NY, to earn Magnet redesignation for nursing excellence.
  • More than 2,400 healthcare professionals, including over 600 doctors with privileges.
  • 383-bed facility, opened in 2011 as the first new hospital constructed in New York State in two decades.
  • Case assignments include Endo, general, ortho, labor and delivery, radiology, URO, vascular, GYN, ENT, neuro, and plastics.
  • 45% to 50% percentage of peds cases, contingent upon the expansion of peds surgical service.
  • Most cases are scheduled.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department
  • Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures
  • Pre-anesthesia assessment
  • Obtains and/or verifies patient consent
  • Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient
  • Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
  • Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition
  • Performance of clinical intervention as needed

Compensation

  • Salary: $550,000 annually
  • Pediatric Stipend: $25,000 annually
  • Up to $100,000 sign on package
  • Loan repayment or training assistance programs available

Shift & Schedule

  • Call taking position
  • Overnight calls to be discussed as night float available

Requirements

  • M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine
  • ECFMG and FLEX
  • Completion of approved residency in anesthesia
  • Currently licensed as a physician
