Position Summary
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a talented and dedicated board‑certified pediatric anesthesiologist (open rank) to join our team as a faculty member and division chief. Leadership opportunities are available for interested candidates. UNC Children’s Hospital is a major regional referral center with pediatric ICU, neonatal ICU, pediatric ECMO, cardiac, burn, trauma, pain, sedation, solid organ and bone marrow transplantation programs. The Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology provides over 12,000 anesthetics per year and offers protected academic time to pursue clinical, quality, educational, and research interests. Applicants can launch an academic career with a faculty development program, formal mentorship, and a robust professional development curriculum.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
- Medical degree (MD, DO, or equivalent).
- Completed an ACGME‑accredited Anesthesiology residency and Pediatric Anesthesiology fellowship by the anticipated start date.
- ABA certified or eligible.
- Eligible for licensure in North Carolina.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
- Experience working in an academic setting.
- Teaching graduate‑level learners (interns, residents, fellows).
- Experience working with CRNAs, CAAs, and collaborating with other services.
