Pediatric Allergist/Immunologist Physician

Children's Hospital of Michigan, a nationally ranked institution and the first and largest children's hospital in Michigan, is seeking a full-time Allergy/Immunology physician. This employed position offers an 80% clinical effort with 20% protected academic time for teaching, research, quality improvement, and program development. Practice Info

• Join a team of six Allergy/Immunology faculty members, two Pediatric Rheumatologists, 4 Allergy/Immunology fellows, specialized allergy/immunology nursing staff, social workers, and asthma-focused advanced practice support.
• Established SCID newborn screening program.
• Patient populations include pediatric and adult patients with a broad spectrum of allergic and immunologic diseases.
• Academic appointment with the Department of Pediatrics, Central Michigan University College of Medicine.
• Opportunities for inter-institutional teaching and research collaboration with Michigan State University and Wayne State University School of Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical care for pediatric and adult patients with allergic and immunologic diseases.
• Participate in inpatient allergy/immunology/asthma consult service.
• Share home call responsibilities.
• Engage in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
• Contribute to research, quality improvement, and program development.

Shift & Schedule

• Full-time, employed position with an 80% clinical effort with 20% protected academic time.
• Balanced clinical schedule with 6-7 half-day clinics per week.
• Approximately 5-7 days of inpatient allergy/immunology/asthma consult service per month.
• Shared home call responsibilities with no in-house call requirements.
• Average weekend inpatient consult coverage is 1 every 4-5 weeks.

Requirements

• Board certification by the American Board of Pediatrics and/or American Board of Internal Medicine (required).
• Fellowship training in Allergy/Immunology with board eligibility or board certification in the subspecialty (required).
• Eligibility to obtain Michigan medical licensure (required).
• Strong interest in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows (encouraged).
• Interest in quality improvement, education, research, and program development (encouraged).
• Experience or interest in food allergy and oral immunotherapy (welcomed).
