Children's Hospital of Michigan, a nationally ranked institution and the largest children's hospital in Michigan, is seeking an Allergy/Immunology physician to join its growing Division of Allergy, Asthma, Immunology and Rheumatology. This full-time, employed position offers an 80% clinical effort with 20% protected academic time for teaching, research, quality improvement, and program development. The role provides an opportunity to join a collaborative, academically engaged team within a facility renowned for pediatric medicine, surgery, and research.
Practice Info
- Join a team of six Allergy/Immunology faculty members, two Pediatric Rheumatologists, 4 Allergy/Immunology fellows, specialized allergy/immunology nursing staff, social workers, asthma-focused advanced practice support, and an established SCID newborn screening program.
- Patient populations include pediatric and adult patients with a broad spectrum of allergic and immunologic diseases.
- Academic appointment with the Department of Pediatrics, Central Michigan University College of Medicine.
- Additional opportunities for inter-institutional teaching and research collaboration with Michigan State University and Wayne State University School of Medicine.
- Dedicated support staff including on-site social workers, Allergy/Immunology-specialized RNs, medical office assistants.

Responsibilities
- Dedicate 80% effort to clinical activities.
- Dedicate 20% protected academic time to teaching, research, quality improvement, and program development.
- Manage a balanced clinical schedule with 6-7 half-day clinics per week.
- Provide approximately 5-7 days of inpatient allergy/immunology/asthma consult service per month.
- Participate in shared home call responsibilities.
- Provide average weekend inpatient consult coverage 1 every 4-5 weeks.

Requirements
- Board certification by the American Board of Pediatrics and/or American Board of Internal Medicine (Required)
- Fellowship training in Allergy/Immunology with board eligibility or board certification in the subspecialty (Required)
- Eligibility to obtain Michigan medical licensure (Required)
- Strong interest in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows (Required)
- Interest in quality improvement, education, research, and program development is encouraged (Preferred)
- Experience or interest in food allergy and oral immunotherapy is welcomed (Preferred)
