PD Ultrasound Tech
Pay Range: $58.48 per hour
Job Overview
The Ultrasound Tech provides patient services using diagnostic equipment, produces and analyzes ultrasound images used by physicians for patient diagnosis and treatment. They are responsible for entering patient demographics in the ultrasound reporting system and reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved school of Ultrasound
- 1-2 years of ultrasound experience
- RDMS certification
- Proficient in using PACS

- Per Diem Schedule
Essential Functions
- Ability to do mathematical calculations and use instrument controls.
- Assists in minor surgical procedures.
- Interacts between ultrasound and tissue and the probability of biological effects in clinical examination to provide accurate information to patients, physicians and other health care providers.
- Maintains adequate stock levels.
- Must have knowledge of gross and sectional anatomy including physiology, pathology and pathphysiology.
- Operates all equipment in practice with competence.
- Provides attention to detail, safe work practices and thorough accurate documentation.
- Provides basic patient care and comfort.
- Provides ongoing daily calibration and preventive maintenance on required equipment.
- Under the supervision of physician is responsible for entering measurements in the reporting system, print reports, and file and fax as required to referring physicians.
- Understands and institutes clinical policies and procedures.
