We are currently seeking a Project Controls Specialist II to support capital project planning, budgeting, and project controls activities at a major power generation facility in North Carolina.

Position Summary:

The Project Controls Specialist II will support the planning, development, funding, and execution of capital projects. This position works closely with Operations, Maintenance, Finance, Asset Management, and Project Teams to manage budgets, forecasts, schedules, reporting, and capital funding requests.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with experience in project controls, project management, scheduling, cost control, budgeting, or financial analysis who are looking to support large-scale capital projects in a highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support capital project planning and investment strategies.
• Develop and track project budgets, forecasts, and funding requirements.
• Prepare capital funding packages and project justification documentation.
• Coordinate with finance and site leadership to obtain project funding approvals.
• Review project schedules and work packages to ensure proper accounting and cost allocation.
• Generate project reports and provide cost and schedule performance updates.
• Serve as a liaison between operational and financial teams.
• Support project controls activities including scheduling, forecasting, planning, and reporting.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in project controls, project management, scheduling, cost control, budgeting, or related disciplines with a bachelor´s degree, or at least 5 years without a bachelor´s degree.
• Experience supporting capital projects or project-based environments.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other business software applications.
• Experience with Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
• Background in utilities, power generation, oil & gas, EPC, industrial manufacturing, or similar industries.
• Understanding of forecasting, project reporting, and capital budgeting processes.
• PMI or AACE certifications are a plus.
