Payroll SpecialistA growing multi-state organization is seeking a Part-Time Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations for approximately 1000+ employees across multiple states. This is a contract opportunity ideal for a payroll professional who can work independently, communicate effectively with employees, and manage full-cycle payroll processing in a fast-paced environment.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess full-cycle payroll for a multi-state employee populationSupport payroll operations for approximately 900 employees (primarily hourly workforce)Review, audit, and scrub payroll-related reports for accuracyGenerate and distribute payroll reports as neededServe as a point of contact for employee payroll inquiriesCollaborate with accounting and operations teams on payroll-related tasksProvide support for year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and reportingAssist with additional accounting functions, such as accounts payable support, when neededRequired QualificationsExperience processing full-cycle payrollExperience with multi-state payroll, including California payroll regulationsStrong attention to detail and accuracyExcellent communication and customer service skillsAbility to work independently and manage priorities effectivelyPreferred QualificationsExperience with payroll platforms such as Paylocity or similar systemsExposure to accounting or accounts payable functionsFamiliarity with reporting and payroll data analysis
