Payroll Specialist IPayroll Specialist I is responsible for delivering exceptional quality service and effective communication with their team and external customers. In this position, responsibilities are to prepare and process full-cycle multi-state payrolls in an efficient, accurate, and timely manner.Duties and Responsibilities:Prepare and process full-cycle multi-state weekly, bi-weekly, and special payrolls including hours, vacation time, garnishments, insurance and 401(k) deductionsMonitor electronic timekeeping system, reviewing for completeness, accuracy, and policy complianceReview and validate employee portal changes within third-party notification systemsCollaborate with team to ensure all payroll transactions are entered accurately and correctlyResearch and address any payroll related inquiries from employees in a timely mannerGenerate payroll data reports to support Prevailing Wage reportingPartner with HR on all matters involving employee's compensation, benefits, and disability payments, including 401(k) contributions and other payroll fundingUnderstanding of multi-state withholding, federal/state/local labor laws and regulationsAssist in documenting data for payroll tax related transactionsFamiliar with quarterly/annual filings and reportsPrepare materials for internal or external auditors as neededDemonstrates the highest level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentialityPerform other duties and special projects as assignedQualifications:Minimum three (3) years of recent payroll processing experienceExperience with ADP Workforce Now highly preferredKnowledge of blended SCA, DBA, and CBA a plusExcellent attention to detail, ability to balance multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentProficient in Microsoft ExcelAbility to communicate effectively via phone, email, and in personMaintain a positive working relationship within the team and external customersWork environmentThis is an in-office environment.Periodic weekend or evening work may be necessary.Ability to stand or sit for extended period of time and perform repetitive tasks is required. Ability to lift light packages up to 10-25 lbs.
