Payroll SpecialistOur client is seeking a Payroll Specialist to play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for a growing, multi-state organization. This position partners closely with managers, employees, and leadership teams to support payroll operations, maintain compliance, and resolve payroll-related issues with a high level of professionalism and attention to detail. The ideal candidate is analytical, adaptable, and process-oriented, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while contributing to ongoing improvements in payroll processes and systems.Key ResponsibilitiesVerify and process employee timecards and payroll submissionsReview payroll data for accuracy and reconcile discrepanciesRespond to employee payroll questions and concerns in a timely mannerCalculate payable hours, commissions, bonuses, taxes, and deductionsMaintain and update payroll records and documentationPrepare recurring payroll reports and related analysisResearch and resolve state and local payroll tax issuesAssist with setup of unemployment and withholding accounts in new statesSupport process improvements and adapt to evolving payroll proceduresRequirementsBachelor's degree in HR, Business, Accounting, or related fieldExperience with multi-state, multi-entity payroll preferredKnowledge of payroll taxes preferredCPP or FPC certification preferredStrong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal abilitiesStrong numerical reasoning and attention to detailExperience with payroll systems; Paycor experience preferredSelf-driven, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
