Payroll Specialist

About the Opportunity

We are partnering with a growing, nationally operating healthcare organization seeking a detail-oriented Payroll & Accounts Payable Specialist to join its Finance & Accounting team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with experience in payroll, accounts payable, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees.
• Review payroll data and resolve discrepancies.
• Calculate commissions, compensation adjustments, and employee reimbursements.
• Manage employee changes, PTO accruals, and payroll records.
• Process vendor invoices and payments; maintain AP aging schedules.
• Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations.
• Assist with cash flow reporting, month-end close, and audit preparation.
• Prepare financial reports and maintain accurate accounting documentation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of payroll, accounts payable, bookkeeping, or general accounting experience.
• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Experience with complex payroll and compensation structures.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, payroll, AP, and reconciliations.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Sage Intacct and TriNet experience preferred.
• Healthcare experience is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
