Payroll Specialist I - Contract To HireLocation: San Antonio, TexasJob Type: Contract to HireCompensation: $22-25/hrBenefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)We're looking for a Payroll Specialist I to process multi-state payroll, ensure compliance, handle employee inquiries, and support a team of 5.Responsibilities:Prepare and process multi-state weekly, bi-weekly, and special full-cycle payrollsMonitor electronic timekeeping systems for accuracyReview and approve employee portal changes on a third-party notification systemCollaborate with the team to ensure accurate payroll transactionsReview automated system outputs before submitting to the third-party vendorRespond to employee payroll-related inquiriesPrepare and distribute Prevailing Wage reports with supporting documentsPrepare payroll-related entries for accounting each payroll cyclePartner with HR on matters involving compensation, benefits, and disability paymentsManage compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax legislationDistribute, record, and monitor agency tax notices and tracers with a third-party providerPrepare materials for internal or external audits as neededMaintain confidentiality of payroll informationOther duties and special projects as assigned
