Robert Half has an exciting opening for a full-time direct-hire remote Payroll Manager with a growing healthcare client!
Responsibilities:
• Lead the full payroll cycle from initial data collection through final processing, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on schedule.
• Provide day-to-day leadership and development to the payroll team, including training, cross-functional coverage, and ongoing support.
• Establish and manage payroll timelines, recurring processing schedules, and key deliverables throughout each pay period.
• Validate payroll results prior to submission by reviewing preliminary reports, identifying discrepancies, researching exceptions, and coordinating necessary corrections.
• Administer payroll-related employee activity, including compensation changes, deductions, garnishments, adjustments, and timekeeping information.
• Perform and oversee payroll reconciliations, funding activities, and general ledger-related payroll support.
• Serve as a primary point of escalation for complex payroll questions from employees and managers, driving issues through resolution.
• Review system integrations and payroll data feeds, troubleshooting errors, rejected transactions, and other processing issues as they arise.
• Assist with internal and external audit requests by researching payroll information and preparing supporting documentation.
• Identify significant payroll processing, compliance, or internal control concerns and communicate material issues to leadership.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years of payroll management experience.
• Multi-location healthcare industry experience required for consideration.
• Previous experience supervising, mentoring, or providing day-to-day direction to payroll team members.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex, multi-state payroll processes from start to finish.
• Working knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with hands-on experience performing payroll reconciliations and researching discrepancies.
