Experienced Payroll Manager needed to lead day-to-day payroll operations while the current manager supports an HRIS/HCM implementation. This person will manage the payroll team, oversee complex public-sector payroll, resolve escalations, ensure compliance, and partner across HR, Accounting, and IT.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive payroll experience with leadership/supervisory responsibility
- Strong municipal/public-sector payroll experience
- Experience supporting police, fire, or other public safety payroll preferred
- Strong knowledge of FLSA, DOL, payroll taxes, wage/hour, and compliance
- Experience interpreting MOUs/collective bargaining agreements
- Hands-on full-cycle payroll, including retro pay, deductions, accruals, terminations, taxes, and reconciliations
- Tyler Munis, UKG, and HRIS/HCM implementation experience are strong pluses
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
