Assistant Director of Benefits/Business ServicesBusiness Office Supervisor Job Goal: Provide skillful and productive operation of the office in order to assure a positive impact on the Independence School District's educational program and students' success.Performance Responsibilities for District Office Personnel:Performs various office management tasksOperates computers, copiers, ten-key adding machines, office machinery, and equipment with a high degree of skillMaintains files/records, confidential and general correspondence, memos, statistical data, reports, and other office forms as assignedPerforms duties to achieve high levels of customer serviceAnswers telephone in a pleasant and respectful manner and routes calls to appropriate personnelDeals courteously with visitors, parents, students, and staffCooperative, flexible, and shows good judgement/discretion in interpersonal interactionsRepresents self, school, and District positivelyResponds in a timely manner to informational requestsPerforms budgeting, requisitioning, and bookkeeping tasks as necessary, following established District policies and proceduresDemonstrates good safety practices and adheres to all District rules, regulations and policiesPerforms other duties as assigned in order to carry out functions of the officePerformance Responsibilities for Payroll Clerk:Prepares accurate financial recordsEnters and maintains employee information into the employee database systemDocuments and shares payroll information needed for cash flow purposesAssists in coordinating payroll processes between departments throughout the DistrictProcesses payroll including regular pay, exception pay, and timecard payPrints payroll checksProcesses direct depositMaintains calendar of payroll periods and required payroll reportingServes as the primary contact for timekeeping software regarding payroll processesTrains and assists secretaries and other District personnel regarding payroll procedures and timecard completionMonitors compliance with Board of Education policy and administrative procedures regarding payrollPerforms other responsibilities as necessary to carry out the functions of the officeTerms of Employment: Payroll Clerk will be employed for twelve-month positions. The salary and work year will be established annually by the Board of Education. Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated by the immediate supervisor using the Independence School District Performance-Based Evaluation Office Personnel.
