Payroll ClerkSpring-Ford Area School District is hiring an Administrative Assistant to work within the Business Office as the Payroll Clerk. The Payroll Clerk is responsible for the accurate and timely data entry and processing of payroll, maintenance of payroll records, administration of payroll-related systems and deductions, and compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and District policies. Additionally, the position interacts with internal and external customers, requiring excellent customer service skills.
The ideal candidate will have excellent computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Adobe; possess an eye for detail and outstanding problem-solving skills; demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills and excellent customer service skills to interact with internal and external customers.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Perform all activities necessary to process and generate payroll for District employees, including collection and review of timesheet data, input and verification of new hire and termination information, payroll data analysis, data entry/import, balancing, and production of payroll documentsCalculate and process salary adjustments each pay period, including those related to new hires, terminations, unpaid leaves of absence, employee returns from leave, and other payroll-related changesEstablish, implement, and maintain payroll deductions (voluntary and involuntary); ensure accuracy in accordance with supporting documentation, collective bargaining agreements, and applicable regulations; prepare and remit payments to vendors and taxing authoritiesPrepare, reconcile, and submit all required annual payroll tax reports, including Forms W-2 and other filings as required by law and/or District policyEnsure accurate and timely filing, maintenance, and retention of payroll records in accordance with the District's records retention policyManage, process, and track qualified tuition reimbursements in coordination with the Human Resources DepartmentPrepare and maintain fiscal records for year-end reporting, including payroll accrualsProvide customer service to employees regarding payroll inquiries; research and resolve discrepanciesComplete payroll-related surveys and employment verificationsPerform other duties as assigned by the Controller and/or Chief Financial OfficerSpecific Skills:Must be proficient with MS Windows and Office (including Word, Power Point and Excel), and Google Suite, as well as other software programs and the InternetAbility to learn and adapt to other customized software packagesExperience with enterprise solution softwareEducational Level & Experience:Associates degree in business or accounting. Payroll certification is a plus.Minimum 2-3 years of payroll processing experience, preference for 200 or more employees.Position Available: ImmediatelySchedule: 8 AM - 4 PM Monday - Friday, 7.5 hours/day, 12 Months (260-262 days per year)Compensation: Starting hourly rate: $26.55/hour.Spring-Ford Area School District offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision and prescription insurance, as well as paid time off and a tuition reimbursement program.
