Payroll Assistant – Treasurer's OfficeBoard Of Education – Delaware City SchoolsDate: September 12, 2022Reports To: Treasurer/CFO, Assistant Treasurer and/or Payroll and Benefits SupervisorEmployment Status: Full TimeFLSA Status: Non-ExemptQualifications:High school diploma or equivalentExperience with computerized generated accounting procedures including word processing, database and spreadsheet programs and general office equipmentAccounting skills/experience; preferably in payrollMust be accurate, efficient, and capable of handling detailed work assignmentsConfidential employee, whose duties require access to confidential information.Ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively both orally and in writingGood health, physical stamina, fitness and vitalityGeneral Description: Shall be responsible for processing regular and special district payroll and related operations. This is a confidential, bargaining-unit exempt position.Essential Functions:Maintain records and process all district insurance benefit programs as well as manages the Cobra program.Responsible for payroll systems coordination.Process regular and special payroll runs.Process completed payroll checks for distribution.Responsible for proper coding, account distribution, and trial balance.Maintain district payroll files.Assist with all payroll reports, city tax, state tax, and federal taxes.Assist with processing of School Employees Retirement System (SERS) and State Teachers Retirement System (STRS) new and terminated employee forms and monthly reports.Responsible for personnel data systems coordination.Responsible for personnel related reports.Responsible for collecting, maintaining, and processing documentation related to FMLA.Responsible for completing wage certifications, including those for Worker's Compensation.Assist with insurance/benefit open enrollment as needed.Assist the Treasurer/CFO in the preparation of district reports to the state auditor, the county auditor, and the Ohio Department of Education.Serve as back up for other individuals within the same classification.Other duties as assigned.Expectations:Demonstrate support for the district's Vision, Mission and Beliefs.Demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement by engaging in regular professional development activities.Ensure that decisions are based on data.Demonstrate flexibility and openness to innovation in the performance of job related duties.Serve as a role model in how to conduct oneself as a citizen and as a responsible, intelligent human being.Adhere to and enforce all board policies.Perform other tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor.Additional Working Conditions:Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue.Occasional operation of a vehicle under inclement weather conditions.Occasional interaction among unruly children.
