This position is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of weekly payroll for union and non-union employees across multiple companies.
The role will also process employee benefit enrollments and changes, maintain payroll tax information, and prepare required tax and union reports.Because this position handles sensitive employee, payroll, tax, and benefits information, the successful candidate must demonstrate a high level of integrity, confidentiality, accuracy, and attention to detail.ResponsibilitiesReview timesheets and process weekly payroll for union and non-union employees across multiple companiesCalculate wages, overtime, taxes, garnishments, child support, union dues, benefit deductions, and other payroll adjustmentsPrepare and submit certified payroll reportsRespond to employee questions regarding payroll, tax withholdings, and benefit deductionsProcess new-hire benefit enrollments, qualifying life event changes, and benefit terminationsEnsure benefit elections and deductions are accurately entered and reflected in the payroll systemCoordinate with HR and benefit providers to resolve enrollment, coverage, or deduction discrepanciesSupport annual open enrollment by processing employee elections and reviewing benefit deductions for accuracyEnter and maintain employee federal, state, and local tax withholding informationPrepare monthly union reports for all companiesPrepare monthly and quarterly payroll tax reports for all companiesPrepare annual payroll tax reports and W-2s for all companiesAssist with researching and resolving payroll tax notices and discrepanciesSupport 401(k) administration, including contribution processing and related updatesCreate and distribute payroll, benefits, tax, and other reports for managementMaintain accurate and confidential payroll, tax, and benefits recordsPerform general filing and data entry as requiredQualificationsTwo to five years of payroll experience requiredExperience processing union and non-union payroll in the construction industry requiredExperience processing employee benefit enrollments, changes, terminations, and payroll deductions preferredExperience preparing and submitting certified payroll reports requiredStrong understanding of payroll principles, federal and state tax requirements, and general accounting fundamentalsMulti-state payroll and tax experience preferredAssociate or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, human resources, or a related field preferredExperience with payroll or accounting software; Sage and ComputerEase experience is a plusStrong Microsoft Excel skillsAbility to handle confidential employee and company information with discretionStrong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage competing priorities and meet recurring weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual deadlinesHigh level of accuracy and attention to detailAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, growing organizationTW Constructors is committed to an inclusive and safe work environment that makes people feel connected and reach their full potential.
