Payroll And Benefits/HR CoordinatorRidgewood High School District 234This position is responsible for the administration of the district's payroll and employee benefits programs ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, collective bargaining agreements, and District policies. The position performs and coordinates all payroll and benefits functions while supporting the effective stewardship of District financial resources and ensuring employees receive accurate and timely compensation and benefits information.Responsible for preparing and processing all district payroll and employee benefits and deductions, including processing direct deposits and printing checks. Storing and archiving all records, calculated timecards/sheets, audits and reports.Audit/review all HR/Payroll changes ensure accuracy in payroll and with the setup of payroll and HR codes.Prepare payroll and deductions for all district personnel including: time sheets for overtime, student workers, athletics, etc., vouchers or checks for proper agencies covering all payroll deductions such as federal and state governments, insurance companies, annuities, etc. Tabulate and prepare all forms, reports and documents, Teachers' Retirement, FICA, IMRF, federal and state withholding tax, etc.Process Workers' Compensations claims for all employees.Maintain accurate and systematic records for all personnel functions including employment applications, vacations, absences, sick leave, retirement, etc.Maintain accurate and systematic records for all Certified personnel that pertain to payroll, attendance and insurance.Maintain record of keys issued to district personnel.Serve as the District liaison with insurance and benefits providers and maintain accurate and up-to-date records of employee benefit plans, enrollments, coverage changes, and related documentation.Assist employees with the onboarding process to explain offered benefits, assist with documents as required/requested and assist employees through offboarding procedures.Process and maintain employee leaves of absence (LOA) and unpaid status changes, ensuring accurate payroll and benefits adjustments and compliance with applicable District policies, collective bargaining agreements, and legal requirements.District liaison with IMRF/TRS, 403B providers and all other optional employee benefit providers and provide support to employees with questions regarding their enrollment and deductions.Ensure accurate and timely remittance of payments and contributions to IMRF, TRS, 403(b), insurance, and other benefit providers; reconcile related payroll deductions and employer contributions and ensure associated liabilities are accurately recorded and accounted for in the District's financial records.Support Local 1274, I.F.T., A.F.T.

and ensure contract compliance, including, Union Dues and deductions, reports, and audits and provide other support as needed.Assist external auditors with any questions and provide all requested documentation. Initiate internal audits to assure the accuracy of payroll, benefits and deductions.Set up, administer the Time Tracking software, and provide support to supervisors and employees to help maintain and troubleshoot software.Provide support for the substitute tracking software, maintain and audit the import into payroll and cross reference against the time off function in Skyward.Responsible for processing and responding to Unemployment Claims, Disputes, Reports and Hearings.Process year-end information and provide W2's, 1095's, etc., as required.Assist with government and misc. reports and surveys, such as wage studies, ISBE, IMRF, TRS, etc.Salary: $70,000 + commensurate with experienceQualifications: Associate degree or bachelor's degree preferred. A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent required.

A minimum of 2-5 years' experience in payroll (school district preferred), benefits, bookkeeping, or related position. Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. Knowledge of Google software and Skyward Payroll preferred. Knowledge of school payroll and benefits and generally accepted payroll principles.

Must have excellent oral and written communication skills to work with teachers, support personnel, building administrators and the public in an acceptable/courteous manner. Ability to enforce school regulations and policies in a professional and ethical manner. Ability to maintain good working relationships with fellow employees.
