Search Solution Group is seeking a Payroll Analyst on behalf of our client, a leading provider of equipment and tool rentals. This role serves as a subject matter expert in payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement of payroll processes and systems. The ideal candidate brings deep payroll expertise along with strong technical knowledge of Workday, particularly within the Absence/Time Off module, and thrives in a highly analytical, detail-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Audit and validate payroll processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with federal, state, and local regulations
- Identify discrepancies or gaps in payroll processing and proactively resolve issues
- Serve as a subject matter expert in payroll operations and Workday, particularly the Absence/Time Off module
- Support, maintain, and enhance Workday payroll configurations
- Partner with HRIS, Finance, and HR teams to ensure seamless payroll operations
- Interpret payroll laws, tax regulations, and company policies to ensure proper execution
- Analyze payroll data and provide insights to drive process improvements
- Assist in system testing, upgrades, and implementations related to payroll and time tracking
- Document payroll processes and support cross-functional knowledge sharing
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field preferred
- 10+ years of payroll experience with a strong focus on auditing and compliance
- Hands-on experience with Workday payroll systems, including configuration
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Advanced system proficiency and technical aptitude
- Ability to work independently and manage complex processes
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar certification preferred but not required
- In-depth knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and accounting principles
- Expertise in Workday, particularly the Absence/Time Off module
- Familiarity with payroll system implementations, upgrades, and integrations
- Subject matter expertise in payroll operations and systems
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Ability to identify and resolve complex issues proactively
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance
- Adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to influence cross-functional teams
