This payroll administrator role administers payroll operations, maintains payroll records, and maintains compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. The Payroll Administrator manages wage calculations, deductions, benefits administration, and data integrity across enterprise resource planning (ERP) and human capital management (HCM) platforms. This role keeps transactions accurate, payroll inquiries answered efficiently, and team members paid correctly and on schedule.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess payroll transactions, including wages, salaries, bonuses, deductions, and benefit withholdings, to support accurate biweekly payrollMaintain payroll records and documentation in compliance with payroll regulations, company policies, and Applied Medical quality systemsMonitor data interfaces between enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and human capital management (HCM) platforms such as SAP and UKG Workforce to maintain accurate data integrationIdentify discrepancies, investigate errors, and reconcile payroll data to maintain accurate reportingInput and maintain team member time off requests, including vacation and sick leave, for accurate payroll calculationsRespond to payroll inquiries from team members, managers, and external agencies, including employment verification and documentation requestsCollaborate with human resources, finance, and management to support payroll processes and data accuracyStay current on payroll tax laws, compliance requirements, and regulations that affect payroll processingSuccess in This Role Looks LikeMaintaining accurate, timely payroll that pays team members correctly and on scheduleIdentifying discrepancies quickly and resolving data issues through careful analysis and reconciliationProviding clear communication and reliable payroll support to team members, managers, and cross-functional departmentsMaintaining compliance with payroll tax regulations, company policies, and Applied Medical quality system standardsContributing to efficient payroll operations through accurate records and dependable reportingPosition RequirementsThis position requires the following skills and attributes:At least three years of payroll experienceHigh school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificateStrong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and reportingStrong analytical skills to review payroll data, identify discrepancies, and support reconciliationClear, professional communication when responding to payroll inquiries and collaborating with cross-functional teamsStrong organizational skills for managing payroll documentation, records, and administrative tasksAbility to read, write, speak, and comprehend EnglishWorking knowledge of payroll fundamentals, including wages, deductions, benefits administration, and complianceAbility to pass a background check prior to employmentPreferredThe following skills and attributes are preferred:Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems such as SAPExperience with UKG payroll or human capital management (HCM) systems such as SAP SuccessFactors and WorkforcePrior experience in payroll administration, payroll processing, or payroll operationsBilingual communication skills that support collaboration with diverse teamsBenefitsCompetitive compensation range: $20 - $25/ hour (California).Comprehensive benefits package.Training and mentorship opportunities.On-campus wellness activities.Education reimbursement program.401(k) program with discretionary employer match.Generous vacation accrual and paid holiday schedule.Please note that the compensation range may be based on factors such as relevant education, qualifications, experience.
