This position will report to the Managed Payroll Manager.
We are looking for candidates located in MA, CT or RI.Position SummaryThe Payroll Administrator requires a solid understanding of payroll practices, the ability to work with minimal supervision, and a proactive approach to ensuring compliance, accuracy, and positive employee experience.Key ResponsibilitiesWorking collaboratively with team members, process bi-weekly/weekly/monthly payroll accurately and on time for all employeesAdminister payroll changes including new hires, terminations, promotions, bonuses, deductions, and garnishmentsEnsure ongoing compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour regulationsReconcile payroll reports, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actionsCoordinate payroll tax filings, year-end processing (W-2s), audits, and vendor relationshipsServe as a subject-matter resource for payroll-related employee inquiries and issue resolutionMaintain and audit employee records within HRIS systems to ensure accuracy and complianceLead onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring timely completion of documentation and system updatesWork with benefits team members for questions surrounding employee benefits programs, and deductionsManage background checks, employment verifications, and I-9 complianceQualifications• 3–6 years of progressive payroll administration• Strong working knowledge of payroll systems, HRIS platforms, and timekeeping systems• Demonstrated understanding of employment laws, payroll regulations, and compliance requirements• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision• High level of discretion when handling confidential informationPreferred Qualifications• Payroll certification (CPP, FPC) or HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP)• Experience processing multi-state payroll• Experience with Paycor is a plus• Experience supporting audits and compliance reportingSkills & Competencies• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal abilities• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and HR reporting tools• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and support employees at all organizational levelsWork Environment• Hybrid work environment with occasional on-site corporate meetings and client onsite visits
