Payroll Administrator IIExperience Level: 5–10 Years Location: Birmingham/ Atlanta (HYBRID) Contract- 18 Months Client- Alabama PowerPosition OverviewThe Payroll Administrator II is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of payroll processing, ensuring accurate calculation and timely distribution of employee wages, salaries, and benefits.This role requires advanced knowledge of payroll regulations, tax compliance, and reporting requirements. The ideal candidate has extensive experience handling complex payroll environments, including Davis-Bacon and Related Acts (DBRA) and certified payroll monitoring.Key ResponsibilitiesPayroll Processing & AdministrationLead payroll processing activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirementsCompile and review timesheet data, making detailed adjustments and corrections as neededVerify and input employee information, including new hires, terminations, and employment status changesCalculate and process payroll deductions (taxes, benefits, garnishments, and other withholdings)Compliance & Regulatory OversightEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulationsSupport administration of Davis-Bacon and Related Acts (DBRA) requirementsManage certified payroll tracking and reportingRespond to federal auditing and reporting requirementsMaintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll laws and regulatory changesReporting & AnalysisPrepare and distribute payroll reports, summaries, and statementsProvide analysis and insights related to payroll dataCollaborate with Compliance, HR, and Finance teams to ensure accurate reportingRecordkeeping & DocumentationMaintain payroll records and documentation in accordance with company policies and legal requirementsEnsure data integrity and confidentiality of payroll informationEmployee SupportServe as primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiriesProvide timely and accurate guidance to employees and managementRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent (additional education in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred)5–10 years of payroll administration experienceStrong knowledge of payroll processes, tax regulations, and employment lawsExperience with DBRA and certified payroll monitoring highly preferredExperience responding to federal audits and reporting requirementsProficiency in payroll software systems and Microsoft Office (advanced Excel skills preferred)Exceptional attention to detail and data accuracyStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and in a team environment
