Payroll Accountant

This position is a permanent, full time opportunity. This person will be required to be onsite 3x a week, Downtown Chicago.

Payroll Accountant

• Process international and domestic payroll for hourly and salaried employees- review time card information, terminations, deductions, employee changes and other input for accuracy and consistency.
• Administer deductions, tax codes, garnishments, retirement-plan deductions, FSA funding and time off accruals.
• Responsible for payroll accounting- journal entries, reconciliation of registers to the general ledger, benefits, insurance, vacation, sick leave, retirement and related liability accounts.
• Prepare and review weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year end payroll reports
• Respond to employee payroll questions as needed
• Internal compliance and external audits, government inquires and other ad hoc tasks
• Partner with HR, accounting, treasury, payroll providers and other internal stakeholders
• Improve payroll processes, internal controls, documentation and reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Related Degree
• 3-5 years payroll and general accounting experience
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 BC, ADP Workforce Now, ADP Celergo, or ADP Comprehensive Services is preferred
