Patriot Program Quality Engineering (PQE) ManagerRaytheon is seeking a Patriot Program Quality Engineering (PQE) Manager to serve within Land and Air Defense Systems (LADS) supporting U.S and/or foreign programs within the Patriot portfolio at our Tewksbury, MA and Andover, MA locations.
Responsibilities include blending managerial expertise with broad technical knowledge, providing Quality Science application, guidance and subject matter expertise as needed to support program objectives and organizational goals.You will manage a team to ensure the effective implementation of Quality and Mission Assurance requirements for their respective SSBU throughout the design & development phase. You will interface with various Raytheon Organizations including Engineering and our internal Program Quality Leadership Teams. You must be able to execute broadly across the SSBU Portfolio and drive design best-practices and drive risk mitigation prior to Production.This is an on-site position with the primary work location in Tewksbury, MA, with local travel support to Andover, MA.What You Will DoInterface as the Program Quality Engineering Lead for Global Patriot supporting Program Manager execution of key tasks responsible for funding Quality across CPT (Cross Product Teams), IPT (Integrated Product Team), Functions, and program.Drive Quality tasks, participate in design reviews, CCB sign offs, qualification planning, flight test walk ups, IR (Independent Reviewer), and trade study in support of Patriot Programs.Manage a team of Patriot Quality Engineers; handling staffing, performance reviews, and development planning.Implement Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) in accordance with AS9145 and New Product Introduction (NPI) to establish Product MaturityUse technical expertise to review Engineering work products (e.g., technical analysis, technical data packages) to identify and eliminate defects.Participate in technical peer reviews of initial design releases, change incorporation, prototype development, and test plansEvaluate technical requirements and manufacturing trade-offs to assess potential risks or opportunities and collaborate with Engineering on mitigation action plansLead root cause initiatives and implement corrective and preventative actions.Support new pursuits through proposal development.Qualifications You Must HaveRequires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experienceExperience developing and managing teamsExperience in hardware design, reliability, and manufacturability assessmentsExperience in leading root cause analysis and implementing corrective / preventive actionsPast work history implementing quality strategiesExperience analyzing quality and other metrics to direct and/or achieve measurable resultsQualifications We ValueCurrent secret government clearanceDesign Engineering experience, with insight into common design challenges and potential quality risk areasExperience with quality frameworks, such as APQP, AS9145, ISO 9001, or AS9100; utilizing tools such as PPAP, Key Characteristics, DFMEA, DFMAs, or Critical ItemsFamiliarity with Risk & Opportunity analysis and Management Boards (ROMB)Experience supporting audit and hardware sell-off activitiesRelevant Certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, CORE, Shainin Red X, GD&T, ASQ).Basis of Estimate (BOE) or equivalent trainingEarned Value (EV) certification or equivalent trainingDemonstrated stakeholder management skills with effective communication for engaging Senior leadershipOur values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world.
