Job Description

IBJI is seeking a professional, adaptable, and positive Patient Services Coordinator I to join our team and work at our Westmont and Western Springs offices. Job Type

Part‑time – 32 hours per week with shifts from 12 pm to 8 pm, split between Westmont and Western Springs.

Summary

The main focus of this position is to deliver exceptional patient‑centered customer service and support IBJI teams. Responsibilities include accurate registration, optimal patient scheduling and other office duties that contribute to a great patient experience, a positive team atmosphere and achievement of company goals.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients and visitors, providing the highest quality customer service
  • Prepare paperwork to facilitate efficient operation and excellent customer service
  • Answer general inquiries
  • Schedule appointments
  • Receive phone calls, triage patients and escalated to appropriate staff
  • Perform registration/pre‑registration including review of patient demographics, insurance and advising patients to provide necessary documents
  • Check‑in/out procedures
  • Manage patient charts
  • Collect and post patient responsibility payments, including copays and deductibles
  • Verify insurance and manage referrals as required
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Perform other office duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High‑school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum one year of customer‑service experience (medical office experience preferred)
  • EHR experience (Epic preferred)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • Ability to handle highly confidential, sensitive and non‑routine information
  • Familiarity with scheduling and rearranging appointments
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows‑based applications
  • Insurance payer and eligibility knowledge
  • Team player with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and flexible schedule as needed
  • Professional appearance and neatness
  • Results oriented with concern for appropriate process
  • Willingness to attend and complete ongoing training required to maintain responsibilities

Physical/Mental Demands

Work may require hand dexterity for office machine operation; using a calculator and/or computer keyboard. Physical demands may also include stooping, bending or reaching to files and supplies, wearing a headset, mobility to complete errands or deliveries, sitting for extended periods of time and viewing a computer monitor.

Environmental/Working Conditions

Must be available to work a flexible schedule to meet the demands of a changing scheduling environment and accommodate the needs of the practice. Work is performed in a fast-paced office environment and involves frequent contact with physicians, staff, patients and the public. Work may be stressful at times and may involve dealing with angry or upset people.

Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills and relevant experience. Salary Description

$17.00–$22.00 per hour based on education & experience.
