Job Summary
This role schedules and registers patients for outpatient clinic visits, verifies eligibility, obtains pre-authorizations, referrals, and pre-certifications in collaboration with physician offices, utilization review, and business office departments. The team member may perform other duties as directed by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Education : High School Diploma or GED
- Experience : 1 year of clerical experience in a medical office setting; other related experience may be considered in lieu of medical office experience
- Licensure : None
- Required Skills : Knowledge of basic medical terminology; clear verbal and written communication; excellent customer service skills; background in insurance knowledge, ability to comprehend insurance cards and benefit details; professional and empathetic public interaction
- Preferred Skills : Background/knowledge of government/state and patient assistance programs; working knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding; strong computer skills; proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office

Physical Demands
Physical Demand Code : Medium to heavy. The job requires constant standing, frequent walking, bending/stooping. For any weight over 35 lbs., use safe handling equipment.

Compensation
Base hourly rate: $16.00 - $23.39. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate’s qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education. The pay range does not include any incentive compensation programs such as shift differentials, clinical ladders, and other incentives that may be available for eligible positions.
