Patient Financial Representative Senior (Onsite)Sigma Inc. is seeking an experienced Patient Financial Representative Senior to join the revenue cycle team of a large hospital system in San Antonio, TX. This is an on-site, contract-to-hire opportunity offering long-term career potential within a collaborative healthcare environment.ScheduleMonday – Friday8-hour shiftsKey ResponsibilitiesAs a Patient Financial Representative Senior, you will support the hospital revenue cycle by ensuring accurate billing, collections, cash reconciliation, and account resolution while maintaining compliance with payer and regulatory standards.Revenue Cycle & Account ResolutionResolve and reconcile outstanding patient account balancesReview and work claim edits and payer rejections for resubmissionRespond to patient and payer inquiries via phone, written, and electronic correspondenceMaintain payer-specific billing and follow-up guidelinesIdentify trends impacting reimbursement, denials, and payment delaysBilling & CodingDemonstrate strong knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codingWork inpatient and outpatient claims using UB-04 and CMS-1500 (HCFA 1500) formsUnderstand electronic claims editing and submission processesEnsure compliance with payer, government, and organizational regulationsCollectionsCollect balances due from payors to ensure proper reimbursementWork daily collector queues and reportsIdentify, document, and route denials for timely resolutionResolve underpayments and credit balances within payer timelinesCash ReconciliationPost and reconcile payments accurately and timelyResearch unapplied cash and resolve posting discrepanciesPerform daily and monthly reconciliation with bank statementsProcess cash corrections and resolve payment inquiriesCommunication & ComplianceMaintain professional written and verbal communication with internal and external stakeholdersDocument all activities accurately within patient accounting systemsSupport departmental quality standards and performance metricsUphold CHRISTUS Health values of dignity, integrity, compassion, excellence, and stewardshipRequired QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent (post-secondary education preferred)3–5 years of experience in:Hospital business office or revenue cycle operationsBilling, collections, and account resolutionStrong understanding of:Inpatient & outpatient billingUB-04 and CMS-1500 claim formsInsurance and self-pay billing guidelinesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently and in a team-based environmentPreferred QualificationsMulti-facility hospital experienceInsurance company claims experienceHealthcare billing trade school or college educationFamiliarity with payer regulations and reimbursement methodologies
